A Nurse, A Sailor, A Storyteller

Ingrid Sorensen, 81, died peacefully on September 30, 2026, after a short illness borne with typical stubbornness. Born in 1945, Ingrid nursed night shifts for thirty years, sailed the Columbia every summer wind would allow, and told stories so long her grandchildren begged for the short version — then begged for the long one again.

She is survived by her partner of twenty years, Lars; her daughters Freya and Astrid; and four grandchildren. Per her instructions, the service will be brief, outdoors, and followed by strong coffee.
